Lara was fortunate enough to discover an interest in photography when she was fifteen; ever since then, she has worked towards defining her own style, honing her skills, and expanding her business, which has enabled her to travel the world, sharing her vision and experiences with an international audience. She began by shooting Fine art photography and experimental self-portraiture in her hometown of the West Midlands, England before she transitioned into the ever-changing world of fashion photography.
At seventeen, Lara started her own photography business and soon found herself shooting for portrait clients, book publishers and music labels throughout the UK. However, she was eager to grow as an artist and extend her business internationally, so she moved to London to connect with creatives in the photography industry and push her boundaries as a photographer.
Her work has appeared in The Observer, 125 Magazine, Vogue Wedding Japan, Conde Nast Brides UK, Marie Claire Indonesia, L'Officiel Ukraine, Aesthetica, and Huffington Post Style.
She is influenced by past and present style; whenever she shoots she likes to create stories with an underlying sense of narrative, whether this is in her personal work, commercial campaigns or editorial projects. She is deeply inspired by elements of influential style, film noir, old masters in painting and photography, Romanticism and untouched beauty. All of her experiences in life thus far have been reflected through her imagery, and continue to shape her personally, and as an artist.
In 2011, Lara made the move to New York City and this is where she currently lives, dividing her time between the US and Europe for assignments.
Winner of the AOP 2009 Open Awards and published in The Observer, 125 Magazine, Vogue Wedding Japan, Conde Nast Brides UK, Marie Claire Indonesia, L'Officiel Ukraine, Aesthetica, Huffington Post Style.
